Helping Universities solve the roommate problem
One of the things I hear quite a bit from students is their frustration with their roommate. I know some universities have used Myers-Briggs as a way to fit roommates together in the past. But a company called General Meters Corp. (not to be confused with General Motors Corp.) is now testing a new program to do some lifestyle profiles on students in order to make roommate matches. You always see commercials for dating matches...companies like eHarmony.com, etc. Sounds like this follows the same concept.
This sounds like a great idea. How many of us had difficulty with a roommate in college? (I plead ignorance here as I was in the seminary in college and didn't have a roommate....I know, lucky me). But this is a great way for a university to show their commitment to making sure their students are as successful as possible (read: another way to exhibit a commitment to servant-leadership).
You can read an article about this new program here. Information about General Meters' products is available here, here, and here.
