The wonderful world of Servant-Leadership
Since starting this blog I have come to realize a wonderful thing: There are A LOT of people out there referring to either their own or others' leadership style as that of a servant-leader. While I still run into quite a few people who are unaware what servant-leadership is all about, it is heartening to know that the movement started by Robert Greenleaf is taking hold in individuals and organizations. I'm sure I'll be linking to stories here and there to keep you posted on what servant-leaders are doing and saying.
All this does bring up some interesting questions; ones which we will be addressing here in the days, weeks and months to come: What exactly is a servant-leader? How do you recognize one? What are the essential characteristics that a person must live out in order to be considered as someone who embraces servant-leadership? How long would you have to work with someone to know whether or not they are a servant-leader?
All questions I will attempt to answer as we move forward.
